Recurring Jobs
Set up work that repeats, such as regular servicing, and Smartworks creates each job on time.
A recurring job is a schedule, not a job. You set the customer, the work and how often it repeats, and Smartworks creates a new job each time it falls due. Recurring Jobs lists your schedules and whether each one is running.

Finding a recurring job
Filter by Job Title, Customer or State. State starts on All. The table shows Job Title, Customer, Frequency, Next Run Date and State. Click a row to open it.
Create a recurring job

Step by step: create a recurring job
- Click Create Recurring Job.
- Choose the Customer.
- Choose or type the Address.
- Choose a Customer Asset, if the work is for one.
- Enter the Job Title and a Description.
- Choose the Job Status each new job starts on.
- Choose the Start Date.
- Choose an End Date, if the schedule should stop.
- Enter the Interval and choose the Frequency: Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly.
- Click Save.
Interval and Frequency work together. An interval of 2 with Weekly repeats every two weeks. The Start Date also sets the pattern: a Tuesday start for a weekly job repeats it every Tuesday. No jobs are created after the End Date.
A new schedule cannot start in the past. If it starts today, Job will be created immediately asks you to confirm. Click Proceed to save it.
Pausing, cancelling and resuming
An open recurring job shows its state beside the heading, and Next run: with the date the next job will be created.
| State | Meaning | Buttons |
|---|---|---|
| Active | Creating jobs on schedule. | Pause, Cancel |
| Paused | Not creating jobs for now. | Resume, Cancel |
| Cancelled | Stopped by someone in your team. | Reactivate |
| Ended | Finished, because the end date has passed. | Reactivate |
| Failing | Creating the job has failed, and Smartworks keeps retrying. | Resume, Cancel |
| Failed | Creating the job failed too many times in a row. | Resume, Cancel |
Saving any change to a cancelled or ended recurring job also reactivates it.
