Getting started with Smartworks
What Smartworks is made of, and the order to set it up in for your business.
Overview
Smartworks has two apps that share the same jobs: the Scheduler, which the office uses on a desktop computer, and the Mobile app, which your team uses on their phones. Both work from your Xero organisation, so you connect Xero before anything else.

The two apps
- The Scheduler runs in a web browser on a desktop or laptop. It needs a screen at least 1,000 pixels wide. This is where you create jobs, book them to team members, review time and materials, and invoice.
- The Mobile app runs on a phone. Team members see their jobs, start and stop work, and add parts, notes and photos from site.
Step by step: set up Smartworks
- Sign up for a free trial.
- Connect Smartworks to Xero. Until you do, every Scheduler screen takes you to the Xero Connector.
- Add your team members and give each one the roles they need.
- Add any plant and equipment you book to jobs.
- Create your first job and book it to someone.
