Connect Smartworks to Xero
Link your Xero organisation so customers, suppliers and products come through to Smartworks.
Smartworks works from your Xero organisation. Connecting it brings your customers, suppliers, products and quotes into Smartworks, and lets finished work go back to Xero as invoices. Until the connection is made, every Scheduler screen opens the Xero Connector instead.

Step by step: connect Xero
- Sign in to the Scheduler as an admin.
- Click Settings in the header, then Xero Connector under Connectors.
- Click Connect To Xero.
- Sign in to Xero when it asks, and allow access for the Smartworks application.
- Back in Smartworks, find your organisation in the table and click Activate.
Smartworks never receives your Xero username or password. Xero asks you to sign in on its own site and passes Smartworks a connection, not your login.
Good to know
Checking the connection
The Xero Connector screen lists your organisation with Connected to Smartworks and Last Refreshed Auth. Disconnect removes the link from the Smartworks side.
If the connection stops working
Open Connector Help on the same screen. It walks you through disconnecting Smartworks from Xero’s connected apps page and then clicking Restart Xero Connection to connect again.
